Welcome to the Montana Library 2.0 Challenge!

Have you wondered what RSS is? Do you know what a blog is? How about a wiki? These are just a few of the "23 things" - web tools that people can use to collaborate and share information and ideas. Also known as Web 2.0, they are revolutionizing the way we use the Internet.

The Montana Library 2.0 Challenge is an online learning program developed by Montana State Library (MSL) staff to introduce you to the web 2.0 experience. It is your chance to Explore...Discover...Play!...and Learn about web 2.0 tools and how they can be useful to you both personally and in your library. It's an opportunity for you to learn at a pace that is comfortable for you and share the learning experience with your colleagues in the Montana library community.

We would like to thank Helene Blowers of the Public Library of Charlotte and Mecklenburg County for generously letting us “borrow” her material from Learning 2.0, a blog that taught PLCMC staff members about web 2.0 tools. The Learning 2.0 model is being used in libraries all over the U.S. and around the world to encourage lifelong learning among library staff. Take a look at the original Learning 2.0 blog.
